Japan’s first new molding technology for low-foamed PSP
Published: September 2026

Collaboration Outcomes
FPCO and SEKISUI KASEI jointly pursued research on reducing product weight by applying PSP (polystyrene paper) foaming technology. Using a newly developed low-foamed PSP sheet, they developed products that had previously been considered impossible to produce with PSP sheets: large containers requiring a tight fit with a lid, such as sushi containers, and containers requiring sharply defined shapes.
